Nuance’s Dragon NaturallySpeaking has long been regarded as the world’s best speech recognition program. Now the power of NaturallySpeaking joins forces with MacSpeech, the leading Macintosh speech recognition company to bring you MacSpeech Dictate.

For over 10 years, MacSpeech has been at the forefront of speech recognition technology on the Macintosh with the market leading iListen, and now MacSpeech Dictate takes over where iListen left off and takes speech recognition on the Mac to a new level of accuracy and ease of use.

At its core MacSpeech Dictate uses Nuance’s NaturallySpeaking speech recognition engine, which has been critically acclaimed worldwide for its unrivalled level of accuracy. This means that Mac users now have greatly increased ability to use speech recognition in their everyday computing tasks at work and at home.

You get everything you need to immediately start using speech recognition on your Mac.

You can use MacSpeech Dictate with many popular programs like Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, Mail, iPhoto, Keynote, iChat and more; and you can issue voice commands to your Mac and watch it respond immediately. You no longer have to use a mouse or keyboard to perform common computer commands, reducing the risk of motor function injuries.

MacSpeech Dictate is a new beginning for speech recognition on the Mac.

About MacSpeech

In 1997, after having previously developed the industry’s first dictation system, Power Secretary, Andrew Taylor founded MacSpeech, with the goal of bringing reliable, accurate speech recognition to the Mac. Two years later, MacSpeech launched iListen, and it soon successfully competed against IBM’s ViaVoice, each taking around 50% of the market share. In 2003 IBM dropped out of the speech recognition market, leaving MacSpeech as the only speech recognition specialists for the Mac. 2008's MacSpeech Dictate marks MacSpeech’s change from the Philips speech recognition engine (which powered every version of iListen) to the more accurate and established Dragon NaturallySpeaking engine. MacSpeech is based in New Hampshire, USA.
